This week our task was to check out three social media managing tools. These three include: Hootsuite, Socialoomph, and Everypost. In my opinion, the obvious winner was Hootsuite which makes sense because that is the only one I had heard of before trying them out.
Hootsuite was free for the most part unless you wanted to use it as a professional which would mean needing to utilize up to 100 accounts (which I don't need). It was the easiest to set up and navigate the site. It offered instagram which socialoomph did not. It was easy to set up streams on the main page. The streams are organized nicely and the site looks very clean cut. Hootsuite offers analytics but you have to have 50 points to view the reports and to have points you must upgrade.
Socialoomph offered a free trial but was constantly offering the full version trial to me for 7 days and then I would buy it after that. The free version limits one to post only 12 tweets per hour (would not be a problem for me, but I know some people would need more than 12). Twitter is the only account allowed in the free version as you have to pay extra for Facebook and LinkedIn. You would think Facebook would be included in the most basic version but it wasn't.
Everypost placed second in my opinion. It was easy enough to navigate around. It offered Pinterest which neither of the other two did. They had a tab for analytics but it is "coming soon."
In the future, I may use Hootsuite to manage social media, especially if I work with social media in my job.
I agree that a social Media Managing Tool will be great for you when you'll be working in Marketing, it'll save you valuable time!
